For this weekend's blog, you'll be writing a creative narrative. There is one rule and one rule only: you must end with this line from Guy de Maupassant's
A Meeting.
"He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth."
As a person who travelled far to often and experienced far too many things, Cole Lester had heard of almost everything. Well, almost everything. He was known far and wide for the countless farfetched stories that he would come up with and for the humorous journals he wrote about his travels. He had either heard or experienced almost every terrifying, lovely, and daunting situations. People could not fathom how a man of thirty-five had the ability to know so much about the world, and after asking countless times, not a peep nor a clue of his methods came out of his mouth. And so his secrets remained, well, secrets. At least, they did until a certain bright young girl approached him with a rather silly story, a story that still plagues Cole’s mind today.
ReplyDeleteShe was small, only seven years old, when she confronted Mr. Lester. Her ebony hair had been held in a tight, constraining band that made her head seem like the backside of a young foal. Her cheeks were reddish, as she had ran very quickly from very far away to reach Mr. Lester, and her yellow, floral dress was muddied and dirtied. Her left knee had a painful looking scrape, and her face was full of determination. Her dark amber eyes held many swirling emotions; they were calculating, knowing, perseverant, glad, and flustered all at once. Her name was Delilah Summers, and she went by the name Lila, as her name was too long to say.
Lila had come up to Mr. Lester with a gift: a delilah, the flower that was very much her name.
Delete“Mr. Lester,” she had begun, her wide eyes searching his for a sign of disdain, afraid that he would shoo her away because of her size. She found none. “I’d like to tell you a story. Mother told me not to, but it’s hard not to. It’s just that…well, here, have this. I’m sorry it’s ruined.” She stopped babbling to thrust the flower’s stem at the man.
Cole Lester chuckled, amused by this little girl who had found a way to the inn he was currently staying in. He gently plucked the flower from the girl’s clutch, and smiled. “I’d like to hear your story,” he replied.
Lila sat herself in one of the soft, blue cushions and cleared her throat, attempting to be dramatic.
"Hello, Nice to meet you,"Ronald said to a beutiful girl. The girl was a pretty person with sharp features and a good posture. Ronald was a 25 year old man and was very friendly. Ronald met the girl in Central Park in New York and wanted to be friends with her. "Hi. My name is Vanessa. What is your name?"replied the girl. "It's Ronald, but you can call me Ron,"Ron said. They continued their walk through the park and got to know each other.
ReplyDeleteThe next day, they got together again and talked to each other. They soon built a strong relationship and one night they went to a restaurant. The restaurant was called Maggiano's and they had an amazing time. After they left the restaurant, the couple started their walk home. Before Ron walked in, Vanessa said,"Ron Iwant to tell you something. We have built a strong relationship and I think I trus you enough to say this. I am an alien." "OH MY GOSH!"Robert screamed. Vanessa ran away and started to cry.He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
I walked into my house after a long day of work at the factory. I turned on the lights and someone was sitting at my kichen table. I adjusted my eyes and notices it was a lady. I didnt move, i just stood there. I slowly walked over to her and said "Hey." "Hey" she said back. I couldnt find the words say next. we just stared at each other about a little while. Then she finally said " Your mother is dead." I didnt know what to think because as she said that she sounded just like my sister who i had lost touch with about 15 years ago. I had also lost touch with my mom at the same time. All of a sudden she is gone. I dont knoe what to think so i getin my car and drive to my mothers house. Wheni get there the doors are kicked open and no one is to be found. Then I just died. From now on i just look down from heaven and watch people tell my story. Some even add a sentence that is very jramatic, "He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth."
ReplyDeleteOne day, 5 year old Tom walked to the playground, and saw a girl crying. He walked up to her and asked if she was ok. She said that she didn't have any friends and that she had a lot of trouble at home. She started talking about how her mother and father were always fighting and that sometimes, her mother would take her car and drive away, but come back when her father was gone. Tom didn't understand what it meant, like the girl, so they talked about something else, completely ignoring the situation. The girl's name was Alice. Alice and Tom soon became great friends and sat by the playground every day during recess. They were the best of friends for years and years. They helped each other with homework, took long walks at the park, and texted each other after school every day. Later, Alice started to get attractive and Tom fell under her spell. He then asked her on a date in 8th grade. She said yes, and they had a picnic under the stars. While they were making jokes, Alice's phone beeped. She picked up her phone, and there was a text message from her dad. It said, "Come home right now or you're DEAD. You'll regret coming home late again. I PROMISE". She turned to Tom and said, "I have to go, its my dad." "Is it bad?". Tom replied. "Ok Tom, I have something to tell you before I go. After my parents got divorced, my dad started taking drugs and spending all of our money on guns and other things. He...",she sighed, "killed my mom and wants me to take care of him. He will do something to me if I don't agree to what he says. Please promise you won't tell anyone. If he finds out that someone knows..." Alice falls to the ground, and cries. When Tom helps her get up, she kisses Tom, says goodbye, and runs away. He never saw her again, nor did he discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
ReplyDeleteP.S I'm sorry if this story is a little sad.
"Yo!" I say. Finn beams when he sees me. "What's up?!"
ReplyDelete"Not much."
Finn and I perform our somewhat complex handshake. Finn was one of my best friends since kindergarten. Now that we're in high school, man, things are really starting to heat up. It all started in middle school when I began getting from 20 to 110 likes on Instagram. Both of us became, as you may say, famous at school. I'm the type of guy who doesn't desire fame and attention, while Finn is quite the opposite. He always tries to steal all the girls to himself, and I don't mind. Ha! I still adore him for his humor and personality. In middle school, I wasn't surrounded by girls and other guy friends to the point I felt like I was suffocating. Now, in high school, it's starting to change.
"Hey, did you hear about a party tonight?" Finn asks, nudging me.
"Really?" I say, stepping back. "Oh god." You see, I'm not to crazy about parties. "Oh come on Arron!" Finn cries. "You aint got to be a party-pooper!"
I put my hand to face, shaking my head. "Who still uses that word anymore?"
Finn hesitates. "Me... Oh come on, man!"
"Fine, I go." I finally agree.
3 hours later, I find myself rolling up to a white polished penthouse with lights flashing from the inside. Finn runs out, followed by one of our other friends, Dom.
"Hey, you're a minute late!" Finn cries, with his big, white teethed smile he's known for. Dom laughs, slapping his thighs and kicking back his head. I get out of my car.
"You get going on those jokes, Finn."
"You got it!" Finn says, catching up with me.
"Did you really have to rent a whole penthouse?"
"I didn't." Finn claps a hand over his chest. "My girlfriend did."
"Which one?" I say, smirking. Dom chuckles behind me. "Nice one."
Finn looks at me, uncomfortably calming. "What?" I say. "It's true." Dom grabs my arm, dragging me toward the door. As we walk in, Finn claps my back and slips past us into the kitchen. I whip around to look at Dom. "What the heck is wrong with him? He never acts like this."
"His girlfriend probably put something in his drink to calm him down," Dom says, smiles.
"Maybe too much 'cause he's way too calm for my liking."
"I know, but maybe she wants him to be calm before getting hyped up again."
"Wow."
Just as Dom walks off through a group of already drunk teens, a familiar voice speaks up behind me. I turn to see my middle school crush, Sierra. "Hey!" she says over the loud music.
"Hey! I didn't expect you to come," I say, startled.
"Well, my friend dragged me here."
"Same. Didn't you go to--"
"Lakeville Middle."
"Yeah," I agree.
"Come on, lets go." She takes my hand and we walk together into the wild crowds.
Nearing the middle of the party, there was a loud crash upstairs, so loud you can hear clearly over the upbeat music. Someone lowers the volume just as Jennifer shouts and cusses down the stairs. Finn runs after her. Sierra, Dom, Dom's girlfriend Angela, and I push through the thickening crowd.
ReplyDelete"Either you choose me and no other girl, you idiot!"
"Please stop!" Finn shouts back.
"Or I kill myself, knowing you have another one!"
The front door slaps open, hitting the wall hard and Jennifer stomps out.
Finn falls down to his knees and bangs his fists on the hardwood floor. He kicks his head back, covering his face with both hands. I grab Sierra's hand and she squeezes back. I cannot believe what I'm seeing and neither do others. The most popular guy in school broken to pieces. He never saw her again, nor did he discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
This is the longest blog I've written. I just got carried away a bit too much. Have fun reading it! ;)
We ran through the forest. It was me, and him, Aric. Okay and three other people, my sister Courtney, my friend Lori, and his friend Smyth. The jaguar was racing right after us and it was about to eat Lori.
ReplyDelete"Lori throw your heels at it!" I yell.
"But daddy got them for me and they're designer too! No!"
"Lori you are the richest girl I know! You will be able to get shoes that are 10 times better than those!"
"Fine!" and she threw the shoes.
They went flying through the air and bonked the jaguar right on the nose. It growled than pranced away. Then the choppers came down and someone came up on a megaphone,
"Lori Lockhart, please climb aboard and fasten your seat belt." *He laughs* "It could be a bumpy ride."
"Lori don't do it! It could be a trap!"
"No Aric, don't be silly. It's probably just daddy wanting to fly my home instead of Taylor driving me home."
She looks at me and says,"Don't worry daddy doesn't think you are a bad driver. He just doesn't want anything bad to happen to me."
I look at her and say, "Well if you really do think it's your dad you can go, okay? You just have to promise to be safe incase it isn't, okay?"
"Okay and... okay."
"Alright we'll see you at school on Monday if not before then!" I shout up to her.
And then she's gone. Aric starts to breakdown. He's on his hands and knees and he's crying.
"I think she just wanted to get out of the forest. She didn't know if it was her dad or not!" Aric crys. He never saw her again, nor did he discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Flying through the deep darkness of space was hard enough, but flying dangerously close to a border planet's gravity field was much more dangerous. The deep space thruster to his starboard side was pluming with smoke and sparks, and each meter that he got closer to the planet, the harder it would be to control the wrecked star-fighter. Nearly white flames enveloped the front of the ship as he burnt up on re-entry. He started spiraling and spinning to the planet below, starting all safety procedures to ensure that he kept his life. "MAYDAY!!!" he yelled into the distress call. " MAYDAY!! Class M Star-fighter with destroyed thrusters and corrupted navigations!! MAYDAY!! Impact at 2634 by 451 in 16:42. I repeat!! MAY- " he was cut off, Battery was at 4%, he heaved at the steering, hoping to get at a more shallow angle. Still flaming, he collided with the filthy lake on the swamp planet known as Quagmireous. And intergalactic rogue Scott Daz had only gotten a blurry glance of three helicarriers lifting him out of the lake before he completely blacked out.
ReplyDeleteHe awoke in the steaming cockpit of my star-fighter. Unsure where he was, or who he was with, Scott felt it was necessary to have a couple of blasters at his side. He slowly took out the guns, then leaped out of the ship with them both in his hands, locked and loaded. The steam cleared and Scott knew where he was. He was at the base known as outpost 14. He put the blasters back into their holsters and straightened His pauldren, a clothing piece showing rank. In all these years of traveling, he still hasn't found out why it was called OUTPOST 14, it was more of a pit-stop, diner, fuel station and club. All of which were much more luxurious than the name outpost 14 had previously said. The guards who rescued his ship escorted Scott to the diner, and that's where he met her.
The room was dim yet colorfully lit. Scott circled around the bar and ordered a steaming hot bowl of morph fungi stew. He was very content on eating until a blue Twi'lok ( a branching relative of the Twi'lek) sat down next to him. " I saw you" she whispered into his ear. Scott immediately stopped eating. "I saw you run from the police, in the ruins of the tower."
"I don't know what your talking about." he said in a flat voice
" Yes you do, and I know that you're not guilty. I know this because that same man killed my family." Scott hesitated, and finally said,
"There's no way to prove it." The Twi'lok pulled something shiny from her unseen bag. She handed a silver circular holographic disc to him.
"You will plug this into your ship's navigational system and it will lead you to a planet with no name. On that world is the bounty of the lost worlds. You can pay for a court hearing in front of the galactic council, and clear your name." The Twi'lok's wristband started flashing green. "I'm sorry, Scott Daz, I must go now. And you must change your fate and clear your name." She walked out the door and Scott started thinking. Was the treasure even real? He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she told him a lie or was speaking the truth.

I gripped onto the saddle of my wyvern as she flew around trying to escape the rain of arrows that assaulted us. We had gotten ambushed a little while ago while we were flying by bandits who spotted us. I was just about to throw my javelin when she got struck with one causing us to crash into the forest. I groggily got up from the crash when I saw a woman sitting near me. " I wouldn't move if I were you," She warned." W-who are you... what happened?" I questioned after sitting up.
ReplyDelete" Well I knew you would crash here, so when you did, I fought off the bandits that came after you and tended to both of your wounds Gerome. " She replied. "Wait how did you know I would crash, and argh h-how do you know my name?! " I asked wincing at my wound side. She smiled softly and said " You may not believe this but, like you, I am from the future. " She said quietly, I sat there in shock and in confusion as she said this I was about to ask her some questions when she got " I must leave now I've said too much, perhaps we will meet again Gerome, perhaps when our future is not as bleak."she whispered before putting on what seemed to be a mask and disappeared into the forest. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Andrea lived with her aunt and her uncle. They could a bit strict at sometimes, but they meant the best… well, at least her aunt did. Her uncle could be a bit… crazy and had a short temper. One day, Andrea came home from school to a disaster in progress.
ReplyDelete“RUN ANDREA, RUN!!” Her aunt ran out the front door and shook Andrea by the shoulders. She seemed like she was out of breath from running from something. “YOUR UNCLE… HE’S FINALLY SNAPPED… IT’S TOO LATE FOR ME… GO! NOW BEFORE HE-” There was a loud bang and her aunt hit the driveway like a bag of rocks. Standing behind her was her uncle.
“Hello, sunshine.” Her uncle spoke. In one hand he held a pistol, in the other a bottle of beer. He stumbled down the doorstep slowly making his way towards Andrea inch by inch. Andrea didn’t want to stick around after she witnessed what happened to her aunt. For every step her uncle took towards her she took took two back. “Where you goin’, sunshine? The party’s just starting.” He took another swig from his bottle.
“I-I’ll…” Andrea started.
“You’ll what?”
“I-I’ll… uh… call the cops!”
“You wouldn’t”
“Y-Yes I would.” Andrea pulled out her phone. “Take one more step and I’ll call them… All I have to do is push the call button a-and they’ll be on their way.” It was like a wild west standoff. Then her uncle held up the gun and pulled the trigger. Andrea’s phone flew out of her grasp. For a drunk man, he was a good shot.
“Heheh, what ‘cha gonna do now sunshine?”
Andrea turned and ran. Ran like the wind. Her heart was beating so hard that it felt like it was gonna burst out of her chest. All she could hear besides her heart beating in her chest was her uncle shouting after her:
“Watch your back, sunshine, because the second you don’t there’ll be a bullet in it.”
“I-I’m gonna get you! I-I’ll tell Dad!”
Her uncle was silent after that. Her dad was a force to be reckoned with. He always got what he wanted, no matter what. If you got him angry with you, you would be headed towards a fate far worse than death.
~~~ UNCLE’S POV
He was in the deep end of the pool now. Having Andrea’s father on your tail was very, very nerve wracking. He dragged Andrea’s aunt’s corpse into the garage, hoping that no one saw the murder scene that played out in front of their home. He closed all the windows, shut all the curtains, locked all the doors, did whatever he could to make the house look inhabited.
-
It’s been 2 weeks since Andrea threatened to tell her father about the brutal murder of Andrea’s aunt. Andrea was still out there, somewhere in the world. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Name??
DeleteAs I was walking home from school as I always do, something flashed across the sky. I was so curious on what it was that I just stood still and stared at the sky for ten minutes. When I was finally started to walk again another object raced across the sky. Maybe it was a plane race, I don't know though because the objects were going lightning fast. I sprinted the rest of the way home and told my little sister and Dad.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter when she arrived home from school was trying to tell me something but I couldn't understand. I told her to tell me when she can actually speak English. about fifteen minutes later she came back and told she had seen something really weird speed across the sky. I asked her to describe the objects, but it was impossible for her she said.
I was flying in the atmosphere of Earth. One of the creatures known as humans, which I've never seen before was staring at my ship in awe so I just made another loop to show of. I went back home and told every person I saw about the creature.
I got home and told my father he didn't believe and I was so mad I just left.
The young alien's father was depressed for the rest of his days for not believing his daughter.He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
I look down at the castle and think to myself, "So small." I look across from me and I see my friend sitting there just as I expected him to do. "Garvak, you have it."
ReplyDelete"What are you talking about?"
"I mean the key. Please don't tell me that this is one of those stories where we go on an epic quest only to find that we left the key which is what it takes to open the castle."
"Don't worry I have it," he responds.
"Good, you better," I tell him. We both walk toward the castle, or at least he does. I slowly tip-toed across the bridge, my entire body shaking. He; however, was perfectly calm. I stop for a second to ponder on how he could be so calm. After all, the Queen killed his whole family and he met her face to face. I suddenly realize that it is that wanting of revenge that drives him, that motivates him. In his eyes, I don't see the small boy I used to play with, but instead a man who has gone through more than anyone to comprehend. I glance into his eyes and see a message saying, "I intend to leave this wasteland." I clench my sword as i realize that we already made it to the door and that Garvak is already opening it. Once the door is open, I see that the palace inside is all dark and no light shines through. I can barely see, but I still see a silhouette of the Witch. I also see a huge blast of green magic racing across the room and coming right at us. I yell to Garvak, "Duck, except he shakes his head." I stare at him, thinking he is crazy until my mind shifts out of its temporary state of disbelief, and I yell as I duck and the green stream flies inches above me. I quickly turn around to see that Garvak hasn't moved at all and now he is smiling, and just like that he was lost in the green wave.
"AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" I YELL IN FURY. "THAT WAS MY ONLY FRIEND!!!!!!!" I race across the room at a speed that I didn't even knew I possessed. I jump, take out my sword form the sheath, and swing right at where the witch was. I stumble on the ground and all I see is smoke until a piece of silk comes flying at me from my right. I look in that direction and I immediately fall on the ground. I look up the see that the Queen is right there. She raises her hand and a red stream comes at me. Just as it is about to hit me, something clears from the dust and blocks the stream from me. I see Garvak there. The Queen started to look worried and Garvak must have noticed that for he said, "That is right. Nothing you can do can hurt me." She grew even more worried and started to shoot bolts of magic at him, but he flicked them away like they were nothing. She squeaked, "It wasn't me." He chuckled and says, in a sarcastic voice, "Sure I believe you." He took out his sword and before the Queen could even react, her head was cut off. Garvak then said, "Well that is it." and he turned toward me and said, "That isn't a good position for you." I respond, "Shut up," and I laughed the first genuine laugh in years, since the coming of the queen.
7 Years Later
I wake up from a dream and I look around. I just tell myself that it was a dream and that the queen didn't really come back. I walk over to Garvak room and see him sleeping peacefully. I think to myself, "Man I envy him. He has never ever woke up from a dream about her, but I have." And that was true for from that day on, he never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
I turned the corner at full speed to run away from them, I stop to gather my thoughts as all I can hear is my heavy gasping. I can hear their footsteps getting closer and closer to my position. I have no way to escape besides a small window, it seems deadly but it is the only thing I can do to escape. "Brad. Where are you? My team and I just want to talk to you," Anthony said. "I hope I live," I mutter as I get a running head start out the window.
ReplyDeleteI get back up only with minor injuries and a headache. I walk down the street to escape the sight very quickly as I hear Anthony yelling from the shattered window. This women comes from out of nowhere and asks if I am alright. "Yeah," I respond, "Why do you ask?" She responded "I just witnessed you jump out of the window. Why was that?" "Oh no reason just special business," I answer. "Here," she says, "Let us go back to my house."
We arrive at her house and she politely tells me to have a seat. She goes to fetch some tea as I sit back and relax as the "minor injuries" are beginning to turn out to be something even worse. She comes back and asks if I need anything to relax my as she sees my wincing face. I respond with yes please as the pain is beginning to feel unbearable. "Here take this pill," she says as she returns from a room,"This is supposed to numb your body as you sleep away the pain. You can relax in the guest bedroom for the night as it seems you can not make it home." "Thank you," I respond.
I wake up in an empty, bright, white room fully dressed in white clothing. "Where am I? This has to be a dream," I think to my self. I realize there is no door in the white room I am in. I hear, "You shall stay with us in this room until you realize what has happened." I am stunned, what did happen I have no memory of last night, then I remember. The women, what did she do in the pill? He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
There she was. Sitting across the park on that rusty old bench. She had started going to Oakleaf High School, the same high school he goes to, a week ago. He thought of it as extremely good luck, as she is everything he could possibly ask for in a girl; beautiful, smart, kind, and she had a good sense of humor. And by some miracle, she didn't seem to despise him at all. All of his friends said they'd make a cute couple. The only problem was that every single time he saw her, he clammed up and didn't know what to say. When he tried making eye contact a few days ago, he almost lost himself in the depths of her beautiful brown eyes. Trying to find somewhere else to look was no better. He would just end up either staring at the ground, his shoes, her long mane of bushy brown hair, or some landscape feature, like a tree. But not today. Today he was determined. He was going to walk over there and ask her out.
ReplyDeleteHe took a minute to gather all of his courage, then did his best to strut over there, looking cool and relaxed. He got a few strange looks from people jogging or walking past him and figured he had failed badly and looked more like an injured peacock. He pushes onward and after what seems like forever, finally finds himself standing directly in front of her.She stops writing and looks up at him. The poor guy is so lovestruck, he doesn't even notice that she had been writing on parchment with a quill. "Hey Hermione." He finally manages to croak out. "Hello Henry." She replies mildly. He stands there for a few seconds, then takes a deep breath and blurts out, "Doyouwanttogooutsometime?" Hermione stares at Henry, looking very confused. "I beg your pardon?" Henry gulps, almost audibly, and repeats himself, more slowly this time. "I was wondering if you might like to go out with me sometime?" She looks somewhat pained and begins packing her things in her bag. "Look Henry, you're really nice and all, but I only came here for this week, and only for a Muggle Studies assignment." Hermione closes her bag, stands up, and slings the strap of her bag over her shoulders. "In fact," she says. "I should be leaving. Goodbye, Henry." And with that, she turned on the spot and disappeared. Or, more correctly, disapparated, although Henry didn't know that. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Tom sawyer was only seven years pld, but he was in love. The one he was in love with was the one and only Becky Thatcher. She had just moved to St. Petersburg this year. He had tried to show off by doing gymnastics and other crazy stunts, but none seemed to be working. Then, one day at school, he had come up with a bold plan.
ReplyDeleteTom was going to admit his feelings for Tom and hope that she would do the same. So he walked up to her and whispered into her ear, "i love you". She looked around and then smiled. She took a long period of thought then unwillingly whispered it back. So Tom thought, then said " do you want to get engaged, I've done it, i know how to do it." Becky put on a look of disgust and turned to run away crying. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
"I told you not to throw it away, it was one of my favorite magazines!" She yells at my dad. It was her favorite thing to read even though she didn't like reading. I an tell that my dad had half the mind to ground her at the moment but he let it slide. I could hear my sister crying and I felt bad for her so I went to go comfort her, and she tells me she was lying. "You know I was just kidding right, or was I?" My sister says mysteriously.
ReplyDeleteNow it is about, 3 hours after the whole event and now it is time to eat dinner. My sister and I are very surprised that our parents did not bring up her yelling at my father. After dinner my dad called me over to ask me about my sister. He starts, "Hey Dev, that wasn't even her favorite magazine right? I mean, she says every one is her favorite." After I agree with him, he calls my sister to have a private chat. That night I was really looking forward to hanging out with my sister but she ran away. My dad, he never saw her again, nor did he ever discover she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Sunlight beamed through scattered white puffs in a blanket of blue above me. A typical spring morning for me. Wake up 7:34 AM and perform my usual morning routine. My phone vibrated and on the screen popped up a message from an unknown number saying "hello .." my head was filled with confusion from both the random text and the fact that I just woke up and have no idea what's happening. I pulled my blankets aside and grabbed onto my phone trying to collect my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI decided to ignore the text after many minutes of panicking and contemplating whether I should respond or not. After all, my parents always taught me not to talk to strangers. Little did I know that I was wrong because from then on, everything snowballed into a huge deal. This mysterious woman ended up being another student in my school. On top of that, she lived in my neighborhood. To me, I felt uncomfortable and chose to avoid the whole situation. Bad decision. I came to conclusion that I should talk to her and maybe she'll stop being so obsessed with me. Although it was a scary risk, I ended up finding a lot of information about her. Including the fact that she used to be my best friend in elementary school. Since I have poor memory, I barely remembered anything that happened in elementary school which is probably why I don't remember her. Nothing really added up since I had no clue of who she is. I never saw her again, nor did I ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
A brisk wind and cold rain fell overhead. Dim lights lined the narrow alleyways of the city. It was quiet and lonely during these types of nights, yet they were Dan's favorite. He walked steadily down the street, the heels of his shoes splashing in small puddles on the old street. The occasional muttering of the homeless or the bark of a stray dog broke the silence in the air but other than that, it was completely silent. The sound of footprints rose behind him. Dan turned around and saw nothing so he continued on.
ReplyDeleteNot too far from his apartment, footprints padded along once again behind him. He turned around startled this time because the thought that someone might be following him occurred. His heartbeat slowed as he saw that no one was there. He turned around and a silouhetted figure stood in front of him.
A woman's voice sounded and said, "You are in danger, Dan. You must leave this city, leave it all behind or else the prophecy will not be fulfilled".
Dan stumbled backwards and started to run. He ran to his apartment, closed, and locked his door. The next night as he was walking home from work, the night was the same although there were no footsteps. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
"YEAAA I'M THE KING OF FIFA!!!" Niall screamed after he won, for the 3rd time against Rosie. "Yeah, yeah. You're the king of Fifa, whatever," Rosie commented while rolling her eyes, rather annoyed with the boy. "How about the person who wins the next match is the real king or queen," Rosie suggested. "Yeah, okay, that sounds fun," NIall said nonchalantly, thinking he would win. They both grabbed a remote and started the game. One thing lead to another, and Rosie ended up winning! Niall was very surprised, and treated her to Nandos, for her winning.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the two didn't get to eat in peace, there were too many fangirls. Niall made it up to Rose by letting her pick the movie they were watching that night. They ended up falling asleep together, on the couch. Well, Rosie wasn't actually asleep. She couldn't sleep. After the first time she met Niall, in a music shop, they have been inseparable, but now Rosie has to leave for college. She peeled herself out of Niall's arms and grabbed a pen and paper. She wrote a small note that said she had to leave because her mom was in the hospital. She glanced at Niall, then the door, and walked out. "Goodbye Niall," Rosie said quietly on the brink of tears.
About 5 hours later, Niall woke up, feeling around for the small girl that fell asleep in his arms. He got up and looked around for her, and she was no where to be found in the flat they shared. While Niall was looking for her everywhere, Rosie was talking to her new roommate, Jade, who happened to be a huge fan of One Direction, Niall's band. Niall spotted the small piece of paper on the table that said, "Nialler ♥" on it. He read it carefully, about 50 times. He knew that Rosie wouldn't have left without him, because him and Mrs. Granger are very close. They would have gone together. He was very confused because she took all of her stuff, her clothes, bed sheets, and even her guitar. "Did Rosie lie to me? Is she at the hospital with Mrs. Granger?" he asked himself. He looked at his phone to text Rosie, but her contact was erased, along with their texts. Niall was very confused, sad, and angered. Why did his best friend leave him? By now, he was crying, he was very hurt.
(1 year later)
Niall and his band, One Direction, were pursuing their careers, maintaining their spot as #1 boy band in the world. Rosie was still in college as a Psychology major. Although she felt bad for Niall, she didn't regret leaving him one bit. If she told him, she would've gotten in the way of his career. Niall on the other hand, was still a little sad. He knew that it has been 1 year and he should've gotten over it already. He still had a little hope, though. "Maybe I will see her again. Maybe she will call me. Maybe I will see her again." He thought to himself, but he was wrong. His best friend was gone. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Kole remembered a time, a decade ago, when he was in the 3rd grade. He was a very dumb child at that time, and he almost always helpless. There was one day however, when he was playing hide and seek with his friends. It was a day he could never forget. The weather was warm outside, and in the woods was where Kole and his group of 6 friends wanted to play hide and seek. Kole wanted to show his friends that he wasn't helpless, but only brave, so he set off as far as he could into the woods. He didn't realize the danger he was in, but he kept walking farther away from his friends and deeper into the thick area of trees and wild shrubs. Kole lost track of time. He looked back, and realized he lost his sense of direction. Then he looked upwards at the extremely tall trees and felt noxious, and began to lose his sanity. He felt dizzy, as if the world around him was slowly spinning.
DeleteHowever, he saw a teenage girl, about 9 years older than him standing in front. "Hey kid, you lost?" She asked me with her piercing dark yet pretty blue eyes staring at me. I nodded and she continued, "Your friends are that way." She pointed to the left. "Don't be wondering off, you'll get lost and probably couldn't get back." The girl's had a serious yet regal appearance, and Kole was probably caught staring at her with the most priceless face ever. "Thank you lady." Kole replied. "But aren't you going back to?" He asked the teen girl. "No, I'm your guardian angel. I'm always there for you, even if you don't see me sometimes" The girl said and gave a slightly charming smile. Kole was confused, but he followed the girl's directions. As he walked down the left, he looked back to see if the teenage girl was there, but she wasn't. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
"Hi, nice to meet you, my name is Jarold"said jarold. He walked up to a girl and shook her hand. She smiled at him and said,"Hi jarold, I'm Kate." Kate stared at him strangely wondering why would he just go up to her and say that? She never even knew him before he said Hi! To answer he question, Kate asked him,"so...do you like...do this all the time to strangers?" Jarold looked at her and just smiled and shook his head,"No, I usually don't. But you see, you seem extraordinary and you're so pretty I couldn't just let you walk by and never see you again!" Kate just simply replied,"Oh." Jarold had been leading her to a coffee shop just around the corner of the street they were walking on before they met. Jarold had a big ole grin on his face the whole way there, and Kate couldn't help but just to laugh about it. Harold need to her and said,"What's so funny?" She looked up at him and said,"You!"
ReplyDeleteJarold looked a bit confused, and he was blushing a bit too. Kate stopped laughing and they walked up to a table at the coffee shop. They talked all afternoon about really everything that's important about their lives. They talked for maybe two hours before Kate realized how long it had been. Kate smiled and said,"it kind of late, k should head back home." "I'll walk you home!" Jarold offered and she couldn't say no to those pleading eyes. Once they got to her house Jarold said,"so when's the next time you want to talk and meet up? Tomorrow?" Kate looked at him 8th a frown and said,"look, you're a sweet guy and all, but I can't do this, I can't, I'm really sorry." She walked into the door and out of his life forever. He couldn't help but wonder, what did she mean she couldn't? Why couldn't she? Did she just say that to get away from me? Am I really that bad? *2 months later* he kept on hoping Maybe he'd get a call. Maybe she'd come back. Maybe he'd just run into her. But that didn't happen. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether or not she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
"DAD!", screamed the little boy as he was being separated from his father. He saw his father beaten lying on the ground. He continued to scream hoping that someone would hear. It must have been the boy's lucky day because someone did hear but this was not the average person but the vigilante. The vigilante tracked the car to a warehouse in the docks.
ReplyDeleteMatt was taking out the trash at 10:00 p.m. He opened the dumpster and saw a masked man dressed in black with cuts and bruises all over his body.He went to get his friend Maria who was a doctor. They moved the man into Maria's apartment. She was treated his wounds as he slowly waking up. "Where am I?", asked the masked man."You're in safe place." answered Maria. Already he was drifting into a sleep. The masked man said, "Call the cops and tell them to go to warehouse 626 in south side of the docks. There is a kidnapped boy there." As he uttered those last words he fell back into a sleep. He later woke up in his apartment with all of his cuts patched up. He never saw her again, nor did he discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Todd Watson, when he was about six years old ran into a strange old lady at the park. She was about his age and was crazy about weeping willows. According to her there was once high school sweethearts who did everything together, but one day the boy disappeared. He was suppose to be volunteering by picking up trash in the park, but he ventured out too far and ended up drowning in an isolated river. Once they found about the girl went crazy for a little while, crying and grieving. The reason why she was so sad wasn't because her over died, but because he died where they first met. The old lady told him that the girl planted a weeping willow and came there everyday t talk to the boy's spirit and never loved again. The old woman also explained that if you go to that weeping willow with you're true love, it will seem to not be weeping anymore, as if magic allowed the tree to move.
ReplyDeleteThe story the old woman told Todd stuck with him the rest of his life. He's about seventeen now, but as a child he was always so gullible. He's grown out of his gullible phase and stopped believing the stories he was told when he was younger, like that Santa and the Easter Bunny is real. Though he stopped believing in what he heard there was always one story that irked his thoughts. What are the odds that the weeping willow the old lady told him about all those years back is real? He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Calvin was a haughty man who relied on his family for money, and had no friends, simply because he thought that other people were stupid. He was the kind of person who drove a different sports car every week, wore the most expensive brand name clothing nearly every day, and worked for an important company (which his father owned, obviously). Him and his prized possessions lived inside of inside of a VERY large, and exquisitely beautiful house, with a luxurious pool in the backyard, and grand topiaries in the front. When Calvin had gone to college, he didn't need to worry about how much it costed, because his parents could pay it all off for him. In fact, Calvin's parents could pay for all of Calvin's things, and they did. Calvin was living an easy life.
ReplyDeleteRaina was a well mannered girl who relied on her father for money, and whose best friend was a little pomeranian named "Lucy". Every event Raina attended,no matter how big or how small, called for a new dress to be tailored only by well known dressmakers. Sometimes she would even get a dress made for Lucy. Her house did not have a backyard to put a pool in, because she lived in the penthouse of a classy apartment building. She, too, was recruited by a company owned by her own father, but her father had already money given her so much money that she could quit anytime she wanted. Raina, much like Calvin, was living an easy life.
When both of the companies decided to merge, they threw a humongous party, and all of the high ranking employees were invited. Gossip was quickly spread about Raina and Calvin. Some were convinced that Calvin would be the future CEO, some joked that no woman could resist the urge to marry him, and some would say that he was going to start his own business and become even more successful than his father. Calvin reveled in all of the hype, and bragged about how he was going to marry the prettiest girl, and start his own business in the next five years. He was having the time of his life.
However, when people chatted about Raina, the things they said were far from positive. All of them would laugh at her in secret, because everybody thought that Raina was nothing more than a spoiled brat. They believed that Raina was a deadbeat who couldn't stand on her own two feet even if she tried, and that no one would want to marry her because she owned that stupid, yappy dog. People made snide comments about her sparkly gowns. Raina, being the attentive and quiet person she was, began to get angry at these comments. She wondered why Calvin had gotten so many complements.
Calvin was making his way across the room looking for somebody to talk to when he laid his eyes on Raina. They talked and talked for almost an hour, and while Raina told him about how everybody treated them differently, Calvin only talked about how pretty he thought she was. He joked about how it didn't matter, grabbed hold of her hand, and told her to just enjoy the party. Raina eventually wrenched her hand out of his grip and began to rant about how her treatment was unfair. She said she wanted going to move to away from all of the gossip and misconceptions, and proposed the idea to Calvin, but but dismissed her ideas and tried to drag her to the dance floor. Raina was absolutely appalled, and began shouting about how Calvin was being inconsiderate. She said that none of this fame and fortune mattered, and told Calvin that being rich wasn't worth it if he was just going to be a complete and utter jerk face. Calvin was too dense and stubborn to actually listen to her. She ended up leaving the party early. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was telling the truth.
Jack was an average happy boy until one night. His lawyer said his mom and dad were killed during their night out. Jack was both angry and sad. He told himself that he will find the people responsible for his parents death. He asked the police what evidence they found of the murder. But they said there was none and they were not even murdered.
ReplyDeleteHe was confused and very frustrated because his lawyer told him it was. He decided to see if anybody saw his parents get murdered. But nobody said they saw anything during the time. He gave up looking for witnesses and decided to spy on the lawyer. But all she did was work and nothing suspicious happened. So he decided to talk to her. "Did you have something to do with my parents dying?" Jack asked. She said nothing and walked away quickly. He never saw her again, not did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Micheal lived in New York City with his with his wife and son. He had just finished working a night shift as a security guard at a nearby mall. Before he was in the military and trained hard to become the best. He finally got back to his house to find his son curled up in his closet. He searched for his wife with no luck and found a blood trail leading out to the backyard. He went outside and searched for hours, looking for his wife.
ReplyDeleteHe called the cops and told them what happened. The cops told him to stay home and they would search for her. He didn't stay until they found her so he searched by himself. After 2 months with no luck on the search, he finally gave up. He was heartbroken and was sad. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
Everything made him sad. Vince was always sad, but he didn't understand why. A perfectly normal day at school would end in tears. He couldn't explain it, and that made him afraid. Afraid of himself. He didn't tell anyone, because he didn't want any special treatment. He didn't want anyone looking at him like he was a charity case.
ReplyDeleteOne day, Vince decided to see a therapist. She seemed nice enough, but he thought she didn't understand him. Until she told him that something was wrong with her, too. She understood. "It gets better", she said. "It did for me." Vince nodded and walked out. He never saw her again, nor did he ever discover whether she had told him a lie or was speaking the truth.
