A Midsummer Night's Fairyland

When we hear the word "fairy," typically we think of a tiny sprite with wings, a wand, possibly a tiara, some lilting figure that dances innocently over toadstools and sprinkles glitter all about. In other words, Tinkerbell has informed our imaginations -- thank you, Walt Disney. These whimsical, somewhat "fluffy" characters are not the fairies of Shakespeare's world, though.

In A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare's fairies serve an important role in the story itself.  They have magical powers that advance the plot or add more complexity to the story that's already happening. They can manipulate human characters into acting in ways they normally wouldn't, creating both relationships and rivalries. These characters do more than sprinkle a bit of fairy dust!

(Midsummer Eve, Edward Robert Hughes ca. 1904)

Write a story about fairies. You may make your fairies the glitter-sprinkling Disney kind, the regal, meddling Shakespearean kind, or any iteration of fairies you choose to represent.

Remember, your story must be at least two paragraphs in length. You must include good descriptive language and characterization to adequately demonstrate your imagination's version of a fairy.

Mine would build their houses in library books!

Have fun! Be creative!

  1. "Come here you little baby," the fairy said. Iris was a very young fairy and she was on her first changeling mission. She was about to steal a very ugly baby from a family in Utah and was having a very hard time. Iris was was still new and she was very confused. The baby was very silent until she grabbed her. The child would scream and cry and Iris would have to hide from the parents. After she managed to capture the baby, she flew off to Great Britain.

She managed to arrive in Great Britain an hour later, still carrying the ugly baby in her arms. Iis's arms were dead tired from arrying the quite heavy baby while still managing to fly. She found her target almost immediatly. Her mission was to steal Princess Charlotte from Prince William and Kate Middleton. She made it passed all of the gaurds and entered the princess's room. Iris switched the two babies and left as soon as possible. iris was so happy she was sucessful and returned to her home in the woods.

  2. It was Mark’s first day on the job. He felt discouraged and embarrassed that this is what he would do for the rest of his life, be a fairy. He felt like he was the only guy on the job, yet obviously he wasn’t. It weighed him down even more at the fact that he knew he couldn’t switch roles. That was how it worked in the Hollow. You were assigned a role and was not given a second chance.

Mark felt glum and it surely showed in his performance. His first outing was the simple changeling grab and go. He compromised the whole operation by grabbing the dog instead of the boy. Then he was demoted to inventory. That job crashed along with a whole stump of fairy dust off of the canopy of the Hollow on only his second day. His advisor took notice to these mistakes and called Mark into his office, “Yeah boss, you wanted to see me?” Mark asked halfway in the door. “Yes Mark come take a seat.” “I’ve noticed you’ve been uhh, slipping to say the least.” “Yes sir with all do respect, but I don’t believe that fairy duty is for me.” “Well son, you know the rules.” “Yes sir I do,” Mark said defeated and looking down. “Hey kid, what do you say on accompanying me on a manipulation mission.” “What, me! On an elite level mission.” Sir I greatly thank you for your belief in me, but I don’t want to mess up such an important operation.” “Trust me kid you’ll be fine.” Mark agreed to go with him and the mission was a great success. Mark never doubted his skills nor his destiny ever again.

  3. She sat upon her throne made of black oak. With thorns the size of beetles. She sat in her chair of hierarchy, under a thousand year old tree, in the dead of night. The only light in that courtyard was the silver rays of the shining moon, and the glow of the queen's blood red eyes. There was an oncoming entourage, one of her personal guards, and a larger group of the captive pixies. One of the pixies stepped out from the crowd, with legs no thicker than a bowstring. He stood to his full height (which was no more than two feet) and said with a shaky voice; " O queen of darkness!! O your majesty of fairies!! why do you enslave us so?"

The fairy queen stood from her throne, as her black cloak tumbled down with the sound of a shadow. "There is an activity that we fairies enjoy....." said the queen, with a voice of a snake. "It is called conquering. Of course, your pixie grove is hidden deep within the forest of tears. My forces cannot penetrate far without knowing where to go. So ill give you a deal....." she aid, getting dangerously close to the pixie. "You tell me where the grove is, and I will spare your life, and your entire tribes, and I will set them to work. Hard work."
"And if I don't?" the pixie asked.
    "Then I can keep no promises about your safety" The pixie seemed to consider the choice of his safety for a moment, but then replied;
" I have no right to expose the safety and location of the rest of my fairy kind!! The queen gave a look of utter disgust an sat down in her throne again. She made a flicking motion with her wrist, and the guards secured the pixie and his family.
"Take them to the guillotine" she said as if it were nothing more than a daily ritual. She intended to complete her empire with the pixie grove, and nothing would stand in her way.

  4. "We will fly tonight!" said Elva, the Fairy General. We all had to pack our bags, for the horrendous goblin King would soon return and would be after Dust this time. Rhiannon the Rose Goddess, ran to tell the baby rosebuds to be ready to leave. Our whole fairy kingdom was in great danger. The first signs of the Goblin King's return was the wilted petals on the far side of the valley. Then we knew we needed to flee. There is an oak tree far from our home but if it means we survive, we will make the long journey.
"Nyx!" I hear my mother, Breena the Fairy Queen, calling me.
    "Nyx!"
    "Yes mother?"
    "Are you ready to go?"
"Almost. I just need to quadruple-check everything."
    ...

We are all ready to go and everyone showers themselves in Dust. We have stored enough to last us all a very long time. And none was left for the Dark One. We all start to fly off with our belongings at our sides. Slowly we take off to our new, red, spacious home, the Cherry Tree.

  5. "Come on!" Giselle cries out, rushing into the dressing room in Pointe Shoe 189. "We're on stage in 10 minutes. Come on!" I quickly finish tying my little winged pointe shoes right as Coppelia nudges my shoulder.
"Cinderella, please sprinkle some glitter on my hair."
"What color again?" I say, reaching into my bag.
"Green, light green," she says, dapping on some pink lipstick. "Don't you remember I'm the Spring Fairy."
"Right! Of course!" I find my wand. "I forgot it so this'll do!"
I raise the wand and- "Biddidi Bobbidi Boo!" -into my hand, a small glass jar of green sparkles appears. "If I may ask, where's your wand?"
"Oh, don't worry! My mother took it away after my twin sister almost broke it yesterday."
"Oh that's unfortunate." I say, sprinkling on the green glitter all over her dark hair.
"It's fine. I'll get it back tonight-- Oh that's enough glitter, alright!"
    "Sorry I-"
"Oh it's fine." Coppelia winks at me as she walks out of the dressing room.
I hurryingly check my makeup, hair, and costume. I take a sip of water and rush out the door.

I pass some returning dancers, heading into their Pointe Shoe rooms and whispering "Merde" to me. I reach backstage right when Clara, the Autumn Fairy runs off stage, followed by her little flying leaves and a roar of applause from the audience. I begin to warm up my feet as Giselle walks on stage to start her Winter Fairy variation. Coppelia finds me and waves to me from the other side of the stage.
    "Merde," she mouths, smiling.
I say "Merde" back right when Giselle takes a bow to the roaring audience and Coppelia walks onto the stage, surrounded with her colorful flowers. Giselle reaches me glistening with her little snowflakes.
"That was so beautiful," I whisper.
"Thank you. You'll do great too," says Giselle. "I'll back on stage for our Fairy Coda." She winks and walks off to our dressing room, Pointe Shoe 189. I hear another roar from the audience and Coppelia runs off. As a Summer Fairy, I unleash my floating sun beams and step on stage. Finally it's my turn to shine on this Grande Stage. I relax as I enter a new world that I have visited oh so many times every I step on stage. And my music begins.

By the way, all the names are from famous ballets.
"Coda" is the final dance in a grand pas.
"Grand pas" is a suite of dances that serves as a showpiece for lead dancers and demi-soloists.
"Merde" means good luck before a performance. It's usually used by dancers in the ballet world. Remember, don't say "break a leg" to a dancer because that's not really GOOD luck. ;)

  6. She buzzed around in the fresh air, waiting to find the 4th crystal of power. Elizibeth had found 3 of the 4 magical stones already and was struggling to find the next. Like everyone else in her land she NEEDED these crystals. The 4 crystals meant beauty, wisdom, power, and immortality. If Elizibeth could find the luck to obtain this next crystal, she would be in power for the rest of her life. But there was another evil and ignorant fairy stopping her.

The other fairies name was Mia the fairy of hate, greed, and brutality. Ever since Elizibeth and Mia were being taught how to fly, Mia would always call her names and physically hurt her. 15 years later these to fairies still have not settled their differences like real fairies do. Just because the fact that Mia was trying to keep Elizibeth from finding her last power crystal, didn't mean that she was not going to find it. It may have takes 24 brutal hours of flying, running, and sneaking. But finally, for once in her life Elizibeth would be the queen of fairies!

  7. I quietly fluttered down and landed on the cold wooden floor of the old house, it was my first mission here and I had to be quick. Everyone was counting on me, I can't fail. What is our mission you may ask, to rescue Clover, the kidnapped fairy. Clover got kidnapped when a human discovered one of our storage, most of the fairies fled, but she was unlucky and was captured. We had to rescue her before the other humans found out that we exist.

Everyone chose me because I was the quickest and the smallest of the scavenger fairies so it was only natural. I took a glance at the human, he was sound asleep in his bed. "Good" I thought and flew up to spot Clover. "Help! Someone help me!" A Voice cried and I flew immediately in it's direction. There, I found Clover, she was stuck in a glass bottle and it looked like she had a broken wing. "Don't worry Clover, I'm gonna get you out!" I yelled and flew near the cork and attached my hook shot onto it and began to pull downwards making the bottle fall of the desk and shatter into thousands of pieces. The crash awoke the man causing him to get up, but I quickly unhooked the hook shot, and sprinted over while avoiding broken glass shards and carefully scooped up Clover who managed to not get hurt from the fall thank goodness and I zoomed out of the window before the man could catch us, and flew into the dark, cold, quiet night to get back home.

  8. She sat up and looked around, making sure no one was near. Nixie then headed to the place where the queen and other leaders of the seasons met. "She lost the tooth, but who should go get it?", the leader of winter said. The queen replied, "She lives all the way in London. No fairy would be able to go that far." Nixie turned around and got an idea. She should go to London, get the girl's tooth, and bring it back to the queen. She convinced herself that it was a very good idea, and went back to her house. She got everything she needed: pixie dust, and a big coin. She also made a jacket, and a basket of food. She put everything in her bag, and waited until the whole city slept. Nixie then sprinkled some pixie dust on her bag, and started her journey.

The next day, she made it to the Pacific Ocean, and swam. She didn't really think about how much the others would worry about her. Back in the forest, the queen called her to assign her a small task, but everyone couldn't find her, and they were searching everywhere. A few days later, Nixie reaches the little girl's house, and finds her asleep. "Wow. She is beautiful. Here you go.", she said as she took the tooth and gave the little girl the coin. She then slept in London, and woke up the next morning. Everyone back in the forest were starting to assume that she was dead, and they all missed Nixie. They planned a funeral, and just when it was about to start, Nixie flew in with the tooth. They all hugged her and made a celebration in her honor for getting the tooth.

  9. "Why!" Mondor yells.
"Thee's punishment is only a mere service to what thou have done earlier," replies Salonika queen of Istanian City. Mondor was about to say something in diffience but Salonika quickly told the guards to take him away. And right as he was about to disappear behind closed doors, she yelled, "And I don't want to see another of you fairies otherwise the same fate befalleth them!" And she thought to herself, "Wait till thou's father here about this wretchedness"

Once in imprisonment, he started to plan his escape. He thought to himself, "The wench thinks thee can imprison me? Thou has another thing coming. Me can cut through the wall using me acid dust." He started to quickly form a plan entirely centering around the acid fairy dust, but then he remembered that the guards took the fairy dust and disposed of it. He then got frustrated and felt stupid. For a second he felt sorry that he was trying to take both the royal twins even when he didn't have any reason to; and, to further add on, the rest of the fairies stopped that practice since Shakespeare died and since Tinkerbell, they became very nice. However he quickly remembered that he was from the Trinson household and that he had the ability to send a message to any fairy in the world. He quickly sent it to his father, Morgul, and it said, "Father help me. I have been taken captive by the fowl wench, Salonika queen of Istanian City, and me need help. Notify a group to rescue me. That is all I ask of you father, may thee help me." He then continued to sit there for several more hours until a large rumbling was outside. Then he felt it getting closer and closer and closer, and then magically it stopped. It was the two guards who escorted him down here in the first place.
They yelled, in a coarse voice, "Get over here!" And he merrily went with them and once in the main hall, he say his dad. He jumped into his hand but all he got was a pain in the head. He asked his dad, "Why would thee do that to thy's son?"
    Morgul replied, "No taking children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  10. Sitting there in front of me was the answer to the question that had plagued my mind for almost a month. At first I thought that I had just been imagining the whispers. I thought I was being ridiculous by thinking that things were going missing from my home, like maybe I had misplaced all those little objects and had eaten the food I thought had gone missing, and had just forgot. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me, but now I know the truth. And while it may seem unbelievable right now, I'm just going to come to terms with it, and quickly. Otherwise I won't be able to find out any information about why or how small, grasshopper-sized faeries are stealing food and small knick-knacks and objects from my house.

Last week, I had been trying to find out if there was something going on, or if I was just imagining things. I tried traps of all sorts, but nothing was working. Then about two days ago, I realized that the theifs were probably to smart to get caught in any of my traps. So I set up cameras all over my house. Today, I looked over the footage from the past couple of days, and I saw that the theifs I had been chasing were tiny, winged faeries. Not fariesm -- the cute, sparkly creatures Disney has made way too many movies about -- but faeries; mischeivous, mystical netherlings. While it answered the question of "who's stealing things from my house", it has also brought up many new questions, all of which I intend on finding an answer to.

  11. All I heard was the gusts of wind that had seemed extra strong. I had figured something was around the house. The closing windows and the bright flashes that occured during the time, I thought it was peter pan. But when I saw that it was "Blues, of the Greenlands." He had taken me to the Greenlands. We were flying through the sky and were having the craziest time.

I had asked him why do you keep on taking kids lately. Blues had paused and I knew something was wrong because usually fairies only visit people. The fairy I had been with was a fake. When we had got to the destination I had seen hundreds of kids stuck ready to be held captive forever. I knew I had to do something...

  12. I was sitting outside in my garden. When I got up I saw a small creature zoom past me. It was getting late so I went inside. That night I heard little voices coming from my garden. When I looked outside the window I saw little lights and tons of the little creatures like the one I saw in my garden earlier.

I quickly put on my slippers and rushed outside. When the creatures spotted me they asked how they knew they were out there. I told them what happened earlier. They told me how they were known as fairies. Then I asked them tons of questions, like how long have they been living in my garden?

So he decided to lay on his stomach to see if he could find it. He saw something glow. He couldn't see what it was so he got closer. What he saw amazed him.

"Mark come here!" Apollo yelled. Mark ran over to him and laid down next to him. Apollo carefully scooped the glowing object up. They saw that it was a fairy. It had pointy ears and wings. They took it home and made him their pet. They lived together for a long time. But their parents never knew.

  14. "Ah, perfect," I said to myself as I just finished creating the best Lego house I have ever built. I decided to take it with me to my friend's house who lives down the street from me. When I stepped outside I heard a rustling noise that came out of the tree, to my surprise I see a big, fat, scary fairy looking directly at me. "What do you have in your hands," it asked me. I could not answer for I was shocked and confused at what is happening right now.

"Look kid, my sister just had another little nuisance baby and she needs a new crib. So, how much for that blocky disaster?" it asked. I replied with, "It-it's n-not for sale, I made to show my friends because we all love legos." The fairy rolled its eyes and mulled "oh brother" under its breath. "How does 10 fairy dust sound," he offered. I answered "No" and ran towards my friend's house, it turns out he was approached by the same fairy.

  15. "We shall have a feast, and may you get thee fairies of the kingdom." said the king. So twelve fairies came, each with a high red cap on her head, and red shoes with high heels on her feet, and a long white wand in her hand: and after the feast was over they gathered round in a ring and gave all their best gifts to the little princess. One gave her goodness, another beauty, another riches, and so on till she had all that was good in the world.

Just as eleven of them had done blessing her, a great noise was heard in the courtyard, and word was brought that the thirteenth fairy was come, with a black cap on her head, and black shoes on her feet, and a broomstick in her hand: and presently up she came into the dining-hall. Now, as she had not been asked to the feast she was very angry, and scolded the king and queen very much, and set to work to take her revenge. So she cried out, ‘The king’s daughter shall, in her fifteenth year, be wounded by a spindle, and fall down dead.’ Then the twelfth of the friendly fairies, who had not yet given her gift, came forward, and said that the evil wish must be fulfilled, but that she could soften its mischief; so her gift was, that the king’s daughter, when the spindle wounded her, should not really die, but should only fall asleep for a hundred years.

  16. Warm gusts of wind blew against my hair and the light from the moon lit up my porch. Stars blanketed the midnight blue and formed constellations. Turns out the stars and moon weren't the only lights in the sky. Little lights came closer and closer to me. A whole lot of them.

I'm either going crazy or there are fairies in my porch. After-all, at this late at night, my head is everywhere but my pillow sound asleep. Turns out I wasn't crazy. However, this whole situation is crazy. Tiny whispers echoes through the light breeze forming a mini melody of soft music. Throughout the whole time I lived here, turns out that I wasn't the only living in this house. Fairies live with me too.

  17. I was just sitting in my room, blasting music through my earbuds when I saw a small sparkle in the corner of my eyes. I looked around my room but saw nothing. I decided to just ignore it and it was probably the reflection off something. I just pressed play on my music. I saw the little sparkle again, and this time I decided to actually get up. I pressed pause, took off my earbuds, and climbed off of my bed. I looked around near where the sparkle was then I heard an adorable little bell noise, and turned around so quick I saw it zoom by. By now, I was jumping around my room. Knocking down items all around my room, when I finally caught the small sparkling object, and when I opened my hands, I could not believe my eyes.

I looked at the small creature in my hands in awe, with my mouth agape. I examined it thoroughly. It had beautiful, big, baby blue eyes, perfect golden hair that was done in a quiff and a little lip ring. I never knew fairies could get lip rings. I never knew fairies even existed. The poor thing looked terrified and I immediately felt terrible. “No, no, no, no! I wasn’t going to hurt you!” I exclaimed. The little fairy stood in my hands and showed me its wing, which looked like it was injured. I felt bad for the fairy, so I decided to put him in my little sisters’ doll house, and he loved it, even if it was pastel purple and pink. To this day, he still stays with me, and is called Luke Robert. He goes back to his family often, and I have come to the conclusion that all fairies are nice and cannot grant wishes.

  18. “These stupid humans keep destroying our land” The fairy strategist said. Her bright yellow wings flapped nervously. All eyes in the room were on her and she didn’t want to make a fool of herself, especially in front of the council. “We can’t just let them stroll in here with their gigantic machines and destroy our forests! We’ve stood by for hundreds of years, I say we strike back.”
The strategist turned around and looked at the others in the room confidently. Although she may be the smallest and youngest fairy in the barracks, but she was not to be taken lightly. She could plan out attacks and battle formats that none other could possibly come close to discovering.
On the other side of the room, a fairy with blue wings and dark hair raised his hand, “But the humans are like, 50 million feet tall and on average us fairies are only about two! How are we meant to compete against that!?”
“W-well uh then we must-” The strategist started. She didn’t actually know what to do and frankly, the thought of fighting against gigantic beasts seemed crazy to her. It’d be much easier if they could just find a way to hide from the humans. Last night she calculated every possible battle outcome and only 28% of the outcomes showed them actually winning, which to be honest wasn’t a very high chance.
“We are lighter, swifter, and smaller than the enemy. We shall use that to our advantage.” All heads turned to the back of the room.
“Oh! You’re very correct your majesty!” The queen stood tall and proud in the back of the room, her deep purple wings shining and her small fairy minions scuttling behind her. From afar she looks like a kind, loving fairy. The ones you’d find in one of those storybooks, but in reality she rules with an iron fist. She was fierce and definitely wasn’t afraid to spill blood. (You wouldn’t want to be there when her minions accidentally spill her tea) Don’t come praying to your “fairy godmother” in the middle of the night begging for good dreams and peace because all you’ll get in return from her are nightmares.
In the meanwhile, the strategist began sketching countless forms of attack and weapon combinations on the mini-blackboard behind her.
“If we set the fire bugs to wipe out the human children, then there will be nobody to alert the adults of our presence… and if we surround the city and stealthily advance towards the center with the scouts and the soldiers, we could map the human’s civilization and steadily decrease the human population with well planned attacks… and if we could get Operation Daybreak to work with the right timing and power…”
“It would result in a guaranteed win with no fairy casualties.” The queen finished. “We shall begin to ready ourselves to attack and we will engage the enemy in two weeks. That’s two weeks to train and think about how we will invade the human’s civilization. And remember- for every human executed, five faires are saved. So don’t hold back.” The queen turned around and exited the room and she slammed the door behind her. Everyone sat in icy silence.
“Well you heard your majesty! Get to training!” The strategist yelled. Everyone got up from the table and rushed to the door, their different colored wings forming a flurry of colors by the exit. Soon everyone was gone and the only fairy in the room was the strategist. She erased everything on the blackboard and drew a picture of a human and a fairy side by side in place of the battle diagrams on the board. she looked back at her work and wrote the caption under it: Fight for peace.

  19. My blood is racing through my veins as I sprint for my dear life in this forest. I, Cali Hale, made the worst decision of my life when I chose to run away, but i wanted to be free! I never would of thought freedom involved getting lost in the woods and having to ru for m life while various creatures, of which I don't even know the species, are chasing me to death. My backpack flies away from my back and rams back into it with each stride I take, some hair from the bun on the top of my head got loose and is whipping around my face due to the wind, and my clothes are teared and worn out from the tree roots and their branches.

Eventually, I got to a certain place in this forest and I couldn't help but feel... safe. It's unreal. There are trees in a happy circle around a giant oak and a river just outside of the tree circle. Even though it's nighttime and earlier in the forest if felt like eternal darkness, this place feels as if there is always sunshine. My breath is still coming out rugged and choppy and my body ached for rest, but i didn't care. I am safe now. Slowly. I walked over to the giant Oak and laid down on the roots, which made a comfy bed for me and placed my backpack underneath my head, for a pillow. Now silence can wrap me in a blanket of sleep while angels sing their hymns and i may sleep peacefully tonight...

The second I open my eyes later that night i see them. At first i believed they were fireflies, but then i saw their precious wings... fairies. Many of them were looking at me from the treetops, but i felt scared when i saw one turn into a human... well human sized. As she approached i could see her hazel brown hair and bright blue eyes sparkling with excitement, "Hiya stranger! What brings you here? Were you the She that was running from the monsters of the night? if you're the She we'll help you." i would of answered in a sentence, but all i could mumble out was, "She?" The fairy seemed pleased with my answer and as if she knew everything or could read minds, she spoke again, "Cali Hale, we've been waiting for you to join our fairy life, it is quite joyous you finally came isn't it? You no longer have to worry about not being free, for here you can be! Running from monsters wont trouble you in our boundaries, dear."

What's happening now? Oh yeah, I found out that i'm a fairy and i'm here to help protect the magical forest...Who knew that something crazy like this...would be my destiny?

  20. "Now, class, I would like you all to turn to page 85," Mrs. Violet announced. On the slate wall, she jotted down the name of the chapter: "The Wild and Mysterious World of the Humans". As the room began to fill with the sound of fluttering pages, I groaned loudly. Fairy school was such a drag. All we ever do is sit inside of this dumb, hollow stump and read. What was the point of reading about the magical and mortal worlds if we don't even get to explore them?

I stared at the book in front of me intensely, but I wasn't actually reading. It was far too boring to read. The next page proved to be even more awful, as it was covered in pictures of human beings. Disgusting. I grabbed my pen and began to doodle over their big, ugly faces, adding pointed ears, and crooked teeth. Mrs. Violet shot me a disapproving look.

"Willow, could you read the next paragraph out loud, please?"

I stared at her blankly, and then searched for the paragraph frantically. This was going to be the longest. School day. Ever.

  21. "Ow!" I yelled. "Well maybe you wouldn't get hit if you played attention and stayed awake!" Lydia said to me with a disappointed look on her face. She walked away looking very cross, and I just rolled my eyes, because she only does this to me and nobody else in our group. "As I was saying, we have a new fairy joining us today! Her name is glimmer, and everybody better be welcome to her! And it looks like you going to have to sit next to...star. I'm so sorry,it's the only open seat, and if she's rude let me know I'll move you somewhere else right away." Lydia said. My response to her rude comment to star (me) was a sigh and me hating her even more. "Hi star! Nice to meet you. So...What do we do in this group class thingy?" Glimmer asked. "Well, we kind of just are a search party I guess. We go into the woods and look for supplies, plants, you know, all the necessities. We also observe how our world's hanging on after all the destruction the humans are doing." I responded with a disgusting look just thinking about how horrible humans are to their world.

"Alright! Out we go! Always have your partner in sight of you and never stray too far." Lydia instructed. We all set out, looking for anything useful. "I found herb that will help if our wingers hurt!" Said one fairy. "I've got 29 leaves we could use for soup bowls!" Exclaimed another. All glimmer and I found was a source of water. We soaked some moss with water and took it back to the fairy truck. As we were going back to the truck, I saw a sparkle, somewhere in the woods far off. "Come on glimmer, let's go see what it is!" I exclaimed. We fluttered off and wen over to the mysterious object. When we looked at it, 2 fairies were trapped and they looked just like us! They copied our actions as well. Maybe we were trapped...What is this mysterious object, and why is it copying glimmer and I?

  22. "Some more seedlings please." I asked politely to my co workers. We were getting ready for spring, the most exciting time for us gardening fairies. "Kay. The next shipment of seedlings are coming though." Said Azalea, my hardworking best friend. Just after she spoke, a big squirrel came into the opening and presented a huge load of seedlings that were tied to its back. "Ah, thank you!" I shouted gleefully. Just then the squirrel ran away with the seedlings still on its back. I felt enraged and tried to get a hold of the squirrel, but it was too late. The squirrel had already ran farther than my wings could take me. "Darn it, what's wrong with that squirrel." I shouted. Before anyone could answer we heard loud thuds. They were getting louder and louder.

"Its a human!" Some fairy shouted from behind a flower. Every fairy gasped and quickly flew into the tall stalks of grass. I peeped over the grass and saw the human, a tall daunting figure. Humans were the enemies of fairies, they took down our meadows and destroyed flowers to build huge square like structures. Just then the human bent down and placed a a bundle of something on the ground. "I know you're there little fairies. Even if I may not see you. Here I brought a little something for you, hope you'll use them." The human smiled and walked away leaving echoing thuds. We were sacred a little at first, but we anxiously flew over yo see what the little bundle was. I opened it with curiosity, and the packed leaves unraveled hundreds of seeds! Everyone awed and I never felt happier on my life. Maybe humans weren't so bad
